I love your suggestions for making a difference in elders' lives! I'm 82 and still contributing by writing on Substack and mentoring women around aging consciously, but I am looking for another way to help. I was an NLP Health Practitioner and also have psych training, so I have a knack for being a source of good energy for others in pain. I like the phone calls for lonely elders and may check it out after I've finished simplifying my life for what's to come next.
Hiya Taru! Thanks for the note! Love that you’re mentoring women around aging consciously. Sounds like you’d be a perfect fit for The Friendship Line. I’ll be happy to share my experience once I get started.
You had me at hummingbird....and then Iris Apfel...I've recently discovered dopamine dressing...cause yes I love color! I would drool over her collection... Have you seen Happy Clothes? A documentary about Patricia Fields...
Hiya April! Thanks so much for the note and recommendation. Clearly we're simpatico. I haven't seen "Happy Clothes" but I love Patricia Fields and I'm putting it on my must-watch list. Will circle back after I've watched it so we can discuss.
So many connections to make and art to create! Thank you for sharing the myriad pathways of kindness and healing and the opportunities to be closer to older people.
Could you mail me a baby possum please? I want one! Oh and that gorgeous hummingbird! Just realised I'd never heard a hummingbird bird hum, so thank you!
That Iris Apfel coat is stunning, isn't it? You'd look a million dollars in that, H2.
Glad to see you're keeping up the art. I really love your paintings.
That volunteer phone line sounds wonderful. So sad to hear about the passing of Patrick. What an inspirational and caring man.
Thanks for another very informative and fun newsletter 😀
Thanks for the sweet note, Jules! Yay! So happy to share the zipping hum of the hummingbird. She's fascinating to watch. Jared's office is only accessible via the balcony and mama bird doesn't even flinch when he walks by, but if another hummingbird approaches the feeder, the mama zooms over and chases other birds away. They are mighty little birds. Aren't baby possums so dang adorable? I love them. I love all the baby critters and the grown up ones too. They help keep me sane in a mad world. I'm looking forward to fielding calls for The Friendship Line will report back how it goes.

You're living your best life Hilary, I love it. Possums, hummingbirds, drawings, friendship lines. That's a full schedule!
Lol. Thanks, Sanj! It is keeping me pretty busy and distracting me a bit from the insanity.
If I could I would buy you a bakers dozen of her glasses!
Aww. You're the best!!

Isn't it amazing how they get used to having people around? I love seeing your camera footage.
Good luck with the Friendship Line. Such a worthwhile thing to do.
