Hilary!!!! You are inspiring me so so much to draw! My personal favorite is your self portrait! Actually, all of them are so good and different. I know you talk about how your drawing game sucks but you played the game even though it’s not your forte and stuck with it and look all this cool stuff you made!
So much good stuff, H! (Although the extent of my bird-watching is just the action on the hummingbird feeder, when I remember to fill it.) I love the idea of learning to be more present through the drawing exercises and may have to give that a try. Take good care of your back!
❤️Thanks, Nancy! Drawing has been a great way to start the day. Definitely beats looking at my phone. Appreciate the well wishes for my back. It’s improving. Just have to keep taking it easy. Hug to you!
I love all of this but especially the phrase “bird biological clock.” My unexpected shift from indifference to having a backyard bird identification poster that I consult daily now makes sense. It’s a perfectly normal part of the aging process.
Aww. Thanks for the encouragement, Stephanie! Join me in the Draw Together group. It’s so much fun though it really pokes at my perfectionist tendencies. Sharing my kid-like drawings in the chat is a challenge each day, but ultimately freeing. It’s teaching me that you don’t have to be a great artist to reap the benefits of drawing.
My vitamin recommendation is Smarty Pants for Women gummy vitamins. I love them!!
Ooh! I love the idea of a gummy instead of a horse pill that is impossible to swallow. Thank you. Autumn!
You have to take 6 gummies per day but they are tasty.
Great! Will order. Thank you!💜

😀 Thank you, Pia! I completely agree. Tuning into the bird world has been one of the best parts of aging for me. I'm very intrigued by your poster. Please share. Have you checked out the free Merlin bird app that was created by Cornell? It's like Shazam for bird calls. Highly recommend. And lol, of COURSE one of my bird apps is Merlin. I’m getting close to 50.
