In that second picture Maddie looks as if she's just spotted your See's/McConnell's ice cream. So glad there was a happy ending. I once knew someone who lost her cat. It lived wild for years and years and one day she got a phonecall from a stranger who spotted it looking a bit lost and rang the number on the tag around its neck. That does show that you should never lose hope.
I LOVE the original Columbo films and I remember the episode with Ruth G very well. Like the other episodes I've probably seen it several times. What a wonderful outlook on life she had. You are keeping the flame alive, Hilary. Your posts are medicine!

Important Update!! I ordered all four flavors of the See's McConnell's ice cream and had them shipped to my house. I've been burned by "limited-edition" specials my whole life—I'm looking at you, Iris Apfel for Zara fashion line! Well, it wasn't going to happen this time. Suffice it to say, all four flavors are insanely DELICIOUS. I guess if I have to rank them, it's Coffee Molasses Chip and Vanilla California Brittle tied for first place. Chocolate with Polar Bear Paw in second place and Banana Cream + Toffee-ettes in 3rd, although Jared would definitely bump the banana flavor and put the Polar Bear Paw last. So there you have it.
I am craving Coffee with Molasses Chip! I will get some this weekend and report back. Thanks for heads up.
